Dniepropetrovs’k city

During last 10 years the Ukraine overcame considerable difficulties forming its state institutions, establishing new economic relationships and entering the world community. The second decade of our modern history has to become the period of economic reform, consolidation of the whole Ukrainian nation and further confirmation of our country as an equal partner in the European community.

To meet these goals we need to make our Parliament work effectively. We have to create an effective system of interaction between the Members of Ukrainian Parliament and the local (municipal) authorities to provide for a harmonious development for both the regions and the state as a whole.

Dniepropetrovsk region is one of the crucial industrial oblasts of Ukraine and Dniepropetrovsk city itself is technologically unique. Dnipropetrovs’k potential encourages new employment and the development of a high standard of living for its people. To achieve the potential possible in Dnipropetrovs’k we need to establish a resolute and competent renewal of the legislative base.

We need to pass Investment and Tax Codes with rates that stimulate production.

It is also vital to establish a regional policy regarding external economic ties to ensure the priority and coordination of activities between the central and municipal authorities and aimed at realizing a single strategy of international cooperation for Ukraine. It is necessary to ensure increasing both external and internal investments to the Dnipropetrovs’k region. As a result of these initiatives Dnipropetrovs’k businesses will evolve opportunities for developing and applying modern technologies and be in a better position to enter new world markets.

We must also harmonize relations between generations. We must nurture unique scientific and productive schools that enables the transfer of knowledge from qualified professionals to the younger generation.

Our young people need a possibility to obtain modern qualitative education. We need to introduce effective mechanisms of state support for the young specialists to productively enter the workforce.

Dnipropetrovs’k has a strong scientific potential. Our scientists’ discoveries are widely known both in the Ukraine and abroad. To ensure development of the territory the city needs investment and implementation of special development programs with a high concentration on scientific and technical aspects. These measures will encourage and support new investments in science and high technology initiatives.

State policy must be based on social justice with an emphasis on the interests of individuals. Such criteria has to be fundamental for all of the social programs.

The health protection system has to be modernized as well. To make it effective we need to introduce a medical insurance system and make medical care affordable.

The municipal payments’ burden has to be amended. A person should pay only for the service of the proper quality. A new system of calculating the consumed municipal services and introducing an effective control over the special use of citizens’ payments has to become a basis for the program of municipal problems’ solution.

With our mutual efforts we can make Dnipropetrovs’k a respected, modern and exciting European city enjoying a financially comfortable and satisfying economy for its citizens.
